Nairobi, June 13, 2018. At the 7th edition of International Flower Trade Expo 2018, Kenya, which was rated as one of the excellent Trade Expos of the world by the attendees, Black Tulip won its laurels for Excellence. The 3 day event started off by the official opening held in the auditorium of the Oshwal Center in Westlands Nairobi, with the Kenyan vice minister of Foreign Affairs & International Trade, Dr. Chris Kiptoo as the guest of honor this yea, who praised all players in the flower industry for their contribution to Kenya’s export economy, Winners of the Competition were announced. Black Tulip bagged three prestigious awards this year.
Bagging the First place Platinum trophy for best stand, the First place Platinum trophy for Best Grower variety Magnum (decos) and the Bronze for best growers variety Cosmic Gypso, Black Tulip Flowers kept up the tradition of success. In the category “Perishables” Platinum award was for Fontana/Black Tulip. Winners of the Best Grower Quality Competition in the category Other Cut Flowers for chrysanthemum Anastasia Green received the award for Utee Estate Ltd (Black Tulip).
“Every award or accolade is a recognition for the hard work put forward by the team and we will strive to be better than the best day after day” said the Chairman of Black Tulip Flowers International. IFTEX was held this year along the newly launched FPA, a trade fair in line of the IFTEX mission, but especially set up for the vegetable, fruit and herb industry of Kenya. Both exhibitors and visitors were very impressed by this year’s quality and diversity of displayed flowers and creativity of stand building.
